Customer service guru and motivational speaker tells tales on Retail..!

I have started reading Friday by Robert A. Heinlein. I usually love old sci-fi of this type. Its all about a female intergalactic spy called Friday. I am only up to page 25 and there has already been a gang rape and a torture session for our protagonist. I always think it's dodgy when a male author writes as a woman and they put their characters through so much degrading stuff. I get the same nauseous feeling I get when I read Dean Koontz. I don't think I'm a prude, no I am ultimate liberated me, it just annoys me. I love sci-fi but sometimes it feels like I am intruding into geek-boy world. Some of the books from the 70's and even early 80's are SO sexist! For a televisual reference check out all those classic Star Trek eps where the main storyline features a heavily naked big breasted alien chick that succumbs to Kirk.

Ohh, and in a really hypocritical edit, I watched The Ice Storm last night. My GOD Elijah Wood need's a going over of lock-yourselves-into-a-bedroom-for-48-hours proportions!!!

This is a blog all about my experiences in Retail. As a retail support manager for a UK retail company I despair of the lack of customer service that is endemic everywhere I seem to shop, and I have plenty of opinions on this subject too!
