Vernon Kaye, what can I say!?

To those of you that know of my fondness for this perfect package of man, sense of humour and floppy hair, you will know that my dreams were realised when I went to the London Studios yesterday to meet my destiny, or Vernon Kaye, as he is named.

On meeting the ledgend I took his hand and said "I love you!" which scared the bejesus out of him, but broke the ice nicely.

All the production people were really friendly and helpful and nice! Rachel who was assigned to us did an excellent job of hostessing us and showing us around and calming us. The other contestants were lovely too! There was Victoria who brought her sisters to watch and Vern kept teasing her that she looked like Faye Tozer, there was Rima who was my opponent and was placed with Mark Durden Smith (not me!!) and Cherise who had had a baby only FIVE days before hand, it was the first time she left her newly born baby!!

When it came to recording our show, Vernon and I had a bit of banter cos he got my name wrong and pronounced it Myra, and I couldn't stop giggling. It really hard to think what to do with my hands and face cos I was so conscious of the camera on me at all times. The guy I was placed with was a comedian called Rhys Thomas who was lovely and also shit hot on the buzzer so at the end of the game we were winning 38 to 7 or something ridiculous like that!

This meant that I got to Headjam with Vernon. Ooo I like that sentence. So Vernon and I stood facing each other as he asked me 8 questions I was supposed to remember in order and recite them back. I failed in my task but was rewarded as Vernon leant over to kiss me not once, but twice on the cheek!!! I know I should have looked sad at losing but I had THE biggest smile ever as Vernon moved in! Wonder how they'll cut that!

After the show, we went off to the green room for some beers and an aftershow chat. Mark said he was very proud of me and his friend Bill and trusty Tristan who both came to watch all enjoyed it too. Then we were driven all the way home, back to Shepherds Bush to watch a video (thanks Sean) of Emma & Michelle being dropped back into the Big Brother house.

I am still all giggly and happy and smiley today as it was such a wicked, wonderful and exciting day.

It just goes to show, sometimes, dreams CAN happen.

PS We were also treated to various sightings of the legendary Keith Barron around the building. Life just doesn't get better than this. :)

Mira meets Mark Durden Smith

I went to see Mean Girls last night. I love it when I get free tickets to a movie, and I go there not knowing what to expect and end up really enjoying it - the same thing happened when I went to see Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless mind. I took my best companion, the trusty Tristan with me, as the advent of my free tickets meant we had to postpone our ballroom dancing lessons for the second week running.

Art imitated life yesterday as in the film a Mean Girl gets run over by a bus, and that very lunchtime I saw a guy get clipped by a bus off the Edgware Road. Also one of the characters worked in a store in the mall which sold "moderately priced soap" and peppermint foot balm...hmmm! Isn't it eerie?!

Quiz show update - The production assistant called today to say that the car is picking me up at 3.15pm tomorrow, my celebrity is Mark Durden Smith

I am very excited and scared!!!

Today ASOS told me that "green" is this seasons popular colour. This hasn't influenced me to buy any new green items but I shall be watching out. I remember a few years ago everyone started wearing red out of nowhere. At least this time I shall be informed and nod knowlegably as I watch the population swathe itself in emerald.

Rusee- a dark bluish green.

Emeraude- clear emerald green.

Mousse- medium olive.

Sphinx- medium grayish or mignonette green, also of the tint known as reseda.

Muguet- a very yellow light green.

Lagune- a light sea green.

Volga- light water green.

Serpolet and Caspienne- two yellowish stem greens.

I am very nervous about the quiz on Wednesday night...the high point will be meeting Vernon, I just don't want to get onto the set and be so nervous I can't speak!
